Bonnie Louise (Ashley) Arthur

Bonnie Louise Ashley Arthur, 72, of Greensboro, GA, passed away at Piedmont Athens Regional on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Born on September 2, 1953, in Greensboro, she was the beloved daughter of the late Floyd Earnest Ashley and Alberta Giles Ashley. She attended grammar school in Union Point where she grew up and high school at Greene County High School. On July 10, 1970, she married Thomas Vern “Shorty” Arthur. For many years, she was employed as a boarder for Bryan Scott. Bonnie was known for her warm personality and her love of serving others. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as crocheting, traveling, and shopping.

In addition to her husband of fifty-five years, Thomas Vern “Shorty” Arthur of Greensboro, GA, she is survived by her sons, Raymond Arthur and his wife Jeana, and Brian Arthur. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Brittney Lee Hawkins (Gatlin), Ashley Ray Ellis (Floyd), Joshua Benifield, and Marie Adams. Bonnie is also survived by her brother, Danny Ashley (Kathi), and her sister, Sandra Hale (Albert), both of Watkinsville. She was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Beasley, and her brother, Randy Ashley.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Bonnie will take place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather at McCommons Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Any memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O.
