Bobby Stephens Obituary

Bobby Kent “Jo Boogie” Stephens, 68, of Greensboro, GA died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. He was born April 8, 1942 in Walton County to the late James Roy Stephens and Hattie Mae Ingram Stephens. He grew up in Greene County and attended school at Penfield. His working career started at Atlanta Dairy where he drove for them for many years, then he worked for Wellington Puritan as a foreman and later drove for Hodges in Monroe for a number of years. He was a member of West End Baptist Church in Greensboro. Bobby enjoyed fishing and the companionship of his dogs. He is survived by three daughters, Bobby Jo Stephens Herrington and Robbie Beasley of Greensboro, GA, Sharon Patterson and Charles Poole of Woodville, GA and Connie Lucas and husband Perry of Woodville, GA; a son, Tony Kent Stephens of Greensboro, GA; a sister, Gail Branyan; two brothers, Thomas Franklin “Dee” Stephens of Greensboro, GA and Johnny Wayne Stephens of Greensboro, GA; ten grandchildren, Joshua Kent Stephens, Angela Marie Stephens, Ivy Webb, Jamie Webb, Clay Moon, Cody Patterson, Hailey Herrington, Dalton Herrington, Hunter Herrington and Harley Stephens; one great grandchild, Elizabeth Faith Stephens and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Roy Stephens. Memorial Services will be held at Woodville Baptist Church, 1191 Peachtree Avenue East, Woodville, GA on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Usry and Rev. Farrett Boswell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
