Bobby Leonard Sanderson “Bob” of Union Point, GA passed away at his home with his wife on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the age of 87. Bob was born on October 23, 1935 in Anniston, AL to the late Leonard Buford Sanderson and Willie Harbin Sanderson. He graduated from Jacksonville State College in Jacksonville, Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. On March 26, 1960 he married the former Nancy Jane Harrell. He was an Insurance Adjuster for several companies until he became the owner of Trident Services Insurance Adjusters retiring in 2010. They moved to Greene County in 1990 from Stone Mountain, GA living at Salem Plantation on Lake Oconee. In 1996 they moved to a small farm in Union Point where they have lived for the last twenty-seven years. He was a devoted fan of the University of Alabama and the Atlanta Braves.
Bob is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Nancy Sanderson of Union Point, GA; daughters, Patricia Lynn Sanderson of Winder, GA and Angela Michelle Sanderson of Union Point, GA; sons Thomas Francis Sanderson and wife Angela Fronek Sanderson and Michael Leonard Sanderson and wife Shannon Ebert Sanderson; brother, William F. Sanderson of Snellville, GA; grandchildren Robert Sanderson (Heidi) of Idaho Falls, ID, Nancy Broadwell (Tony) of Winder, GA, Christopher Berryman of Bethlehem, GA, Taylor Sanderson (Amber) of Statham, GA, Stephen Sanderson of Lawrenceville, GA, Kenneth Sanderson of Loganville, GA and Andrew Sanderson of Loganville, GA; great grandchildren, Blake Broadwell of Winder, GA and Jaxom Sanderson of Idaho Falls, ID and other relatives and friends.
The family will have a Celebration of Bob’s life at a later time.
