Billie Ruth (Cannon) Sellers

Billie Ruth Cannon Sellers, age 88 of Greensboro, GA passed away Monday, December 27, 2021. A lifelong resident of Greene County, she was born November 24, 1933, in Greensboro, GA to the late Truman David Cannon, Sr. and Allean Bennett Cannon.  She graduated from Greensboro High School in 1949, the last class that had only eleven grades. In March of 1949, she married Edward Adel Sellers.  She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church for many years, where she was the last of the founding members of the WMU.  She retired as a teller from BB&T which used to be the Bank of Greensboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adel Sellers and her siblings, Truman David Cannon, Jr., George Robert Cannon, Alton Cannon and Frances Cannon Beale.  She is survived by her sons, Ray Sellers (Leah Anne), Ricky Sellers (Vicki), and Ronnie Sellers (Lexie); grandchildren: Jason Sellers, Allison Kelley (Matt), Beth Patrick (Jeff), Suzanne Hobble (Shawn), Frances Sellers (Mark), Justin Sellers and Will Sellers; step-grandchildren: Allie Lane (Brandon), Hal Pritchett, Greta Thomas (Ethan), and Fulton Pritchett (Erin); great grandchildren: Heather, Breanna, Heidi, Noah, Morgan, Emma, Hayden, Hutch, and Hayes; step-great grandchildren Harrison, Amelia, Freya, and Ada and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 1400 Farmington Road, Madison, GA 30650 with Rev. Mike Pritchett and Rev. Harold Duvall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Ray Duvall, Andy Dyar, Charles Crumbley, Zippy Duvall, Ralph Lanier and Richard Curtis.  The family will receive friends Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service.
