Betsy Buckland Moon, age 71, of Greensboro, Georgia, died on Friday, February 19, 2021 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. Betsy was born in Cairo, GA in Grady County on February 4, 1950 the daughter of the late William and Mary Stanley Buckland. Betsy Buckland Moon, age 71, of Greensboro, Georgia, died on Friday, February 19, 2021 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. Betsy was born in Cairo, GA in Grady County on February 4, 1950 the daughter of the late William and Mary Stanley Buckland. She graduated from Greene County High School in 1969 and earned an associate degree from Athens Technical School in 1971.  She worked at the Huddle House as a waitress, but as much time as possible she enjoyed her grandchildren.  Betsy wrote poems, kept a journal and did facebook as favorite pastimes.  She was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Greensboro.

She is survived by a daughter, Shani Lynn Yearwood and her husband Tommy of Greensboro, GA; a son, Brandon Moon of Greensboro, GA; three sisters, Mary Bill Pollock, Harriete Lynn Smith (Zachary} and Carrie Buckland; two brothers, Cody Buckland and Chey Buckland; three grandchildren, Chance Ellis, Tucker Higdon and Lacey Wilson; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, William Boy Buckland.
