Barbara Anita (Moncrief) Moore

Barbara Anita Moncrief Moore, age 89, of White Plains, Georgia died Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at The Harbor at Harmony Crossing. Born in Greensboro on December 16, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Moncrief and Hattie Thea Atkinson Moncrief. She graduated from Greensboro High School in 1950 and married William “Billy” Moore on March 14, 1954 and they just celebrated their sixty-seventh wedding anniversary. Prior to her marriage she worked for Hunter’s Drug Store for several years. After marriage she enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her boys. She was a member of the Margarets Grove Baptist Church where you could always count on Barbara to keep flowers in the church and make sure everything was ready for the services at the church. Because of her love for flowers she had been a member of Sharon Garden Club which she very much enjoyed.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Moore of White Plains, GA; two sons, Andy Moore (Alice) and Bob Moore (Linda); two sisters, Betty M. Eley and husband John and Naomi M. Shelnutt both of White Plains, GA; five grandchildren,  Farren Moore, Brittany Collis (David), Autumn Askew (Luke), Adrianne Wheeler (Reed) and Abbey Kay Moore; great grandchildren, Anderson Collis and Meredith Askew; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Jackson "Bill Jack" Moncrief, James Roger Moncrief and David Carson Moncrief.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Margarets Grove Baptist Church, 1791 Margarets Grove Road, Crawfordville, GA 30631 with Rev. Albert Stroup officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Stan Jackson, Herbert Rhodes, Joey Rhodes, Bob Watson, Manuel Alvarez and Wayne Williams.  The family requests that any memorials be made to Margarets Grove Baptist Church, c/o Ellen Fennell, 2232 Jordan Place Road SW, Crawfordville, GA 30631.
