Barbara Mae (Heath) Harper

Barbara Mae Heath Harper, age 91, of Sylvania, GA, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Hospice Savannah, in Savannah, GA. Born in Warren County, Georgia on October 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Carrie Mae Abbott Heath and Frank Leon Heath. She was a graduate of the Georgia School for the Deaf in Cave Spring, GA, where she met her husband, Marshall Harper. She worked as a seamstress for White Stag Textile Company. Barbara was a member of Middle Ground Church in Sylvania.

Her survivors include a daughter, Brenda Harper; a son, Maxwell Wilson Harper; her brother, Leon Heath and wife Rosemary; sister, Patsy Newsome, and a granddaughter, Heather Harper. In addition to her husband, Marshall Wilson Harper, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Annette Parish and Frankie M. Heath.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Greensboro City Cemetery, with Rev. Alec Ward officiating. McCommons Funeral Home, located at 109 W.
