Audrey Robinson Hood Lunceford

Audrey Robinson Hood Lunceford, age 86, of Greensboro, GA, passed away on May 18, 2008. She was born Audrey Marie Robinson and was raised in Greensboro. Her parents were the late Claud Edgar Robinson, Sr. and Audrey McWhorter Robinson. She attended Brenau College for one year and finished her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Lagrange College. She was an accomplished pianist and soloist. While at Lagrange College, she met her first husband, the late Julian Hood, Sr. Audrey and Julian were married and attended the University of Georgia where Audrey enrolled in the Master''s Program.

Audrey and Julian had four children: Ben Hood of Greensboro, GA and his twin sister, Nancy Boczar and husband Bruce of Trevose, PA, Julian Hood, Jr. and wife Phyllis Finchem of Mountain Park, GA and John Hood and wife Linda of Atlanta, GA. The four grandchildren are Mary Hood (Atlanta), Courtney Hood and husband Michael (Atlanta) and Natalie Vicens (Atlanta). These three are the daughters of John and Linda Hood of Atlanta. The fourth, Christian Boczar, is the son of Nancy and Bruce Boczar of Trevose, PA. There are also three great grandchildren: Joaquin Vicens, Cody Hood and Michael Hood. Survivors also include a brother, Claud Robinson, Jr of Greensboro, GA and a sister, Sara Fortson also of Greensboro, GA. Audrey''s second husband was the late Norman "Buddy" Lunceford of Greensboro, GA.

Audrey has been a lifetime member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer where she enjoyed being the organist for many years. She taught piano at Greene County High School. One of her favorite pupils was the talented Neal Dolvin. She later retired from the State of Georgia after many years in social work as a caseworker in both Madison and Greensboro. Her friends and family will always remember the sweet smile and quiet, easygoing manner that were her trademarks.

Memorial Services will be held Sunday, May 25, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer with The Reverend D. Geoffrey Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Greensboro City Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the church activity center. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
