Arthur Leonard Ott, Jr.

Arthur Leonard Ott, Jr., age 93, of Greensboro, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at his residence with his family by his side. Born November 17, 1930, in Adrian, MI, he was the only son of the late Arthur Leonard Ott, Sr. and Eva D. Langdon Ott. On March 4, 1950, he married his High School Sweetheart Nancy Gretchen Small in Angola, IN. Arthur then earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Tech. They lived in a variety of places in the Midwest but came to Greensboro, GA in 1982 where he worked as Chief Engineer at Mechanical Mold and then at Wellington Puritan Mills. He loved to ski, play tennis and golf, ride his Harley and do woodworking. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro, GA.

Survivors include children: Brian Samuel Ott (Laurie) of Bisbee, AZ; Julie Branyan (Timothy) of Union Point, GA, Wanda Jean Sause of Greensboro, GA; brother-in-law Terence Small (Phyllis) Waynesboro, NC; grandchildren: Kristie Grimm (Curt), Adrian Jenkins, Justin Ott (Kim), Lindsey Stone (Keith), Adrian Ott (Naoko), April Tabler (Eric), and John Hinton Branyan; great grandchildren, Madison, Jacob, Berkley, Hadley, Mackenzie, Sadie, Tristan, Abigail, Evelyn, Amelia and Ella; niece, Laura Ann Greene; nephew, Scott Samuel Small (Julie); and a number of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gretchen Ott, his son, John Arthur Ott and sister, Joyce Ott Sigler.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro, GA 30642 with Reverend Curt Grimm officiating with visitation at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, 333 E. Siena Heights Drive, Adrian, MI 49221. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to the Oconee Regional Humane Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
