Arthur Madden Obituary

Arthur Dillard “Art” Madden, age 75, of Greensboro, GA, died Saturday, October 16, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens. Born in Elbert County on April 20, 1929 he was the son of the late John Waco Madden and Effie Lee McKelly Madden. Art attended Doves Creek School in Elbert County and was a member of West End Baptist Church in Greensboro. Before coming to Greensboro he was a Stone Cutter in Elberton and later was a machinist for Greensboro Manufacturing.   He is survived by his wife, Thelma Madden of Greensboro, GA; a daughter, Sandi Madden of Macon, GA; a son, Gary Madden of Greensboro, GA; three sisters, Sue Hancock of Winterville, GA, Hazel Erwin of Winterville, GA and Gene Manley of Winterville, GA; two brothers, Albert Madden of Elberton, GA and Paul Madden of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren, Teri Moody and husband Keith of Greensboro, GA, Chad Madden of Austell, GA, Kami Branyan and husband Pat of Union Point, GA, Joey Madden of Milledgeville, GA, Brandi Wood and husband Michael of Greensboro, GA and Chandra Dominy of Woodville, GA; four great grandchildren, Brittany Griffith of Greensboro, GA, Brandon Heffner of Greensboro, GA, Micheala Wood of Greensboro, GA and Raven Dominy of Woodville, GA; and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.   Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 18, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at West End Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Robinson and Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Chad Madden, Joey Madden, Pat Branyan, Keith Moody, Joe Bashore and Bill Madden. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at West End Baptist Church.
