Alvin Eugene “Gene” Bradley, age 71, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Pine Pointe, Hospice of Central Georgia in Macon, GA. A lifelong resident of Greensboro he was born January 13, 1949 to the late Jack Harold Bradley and Ocie Mae Dye Bradley. In 1967 he graduated from Greensboro High School where he lettered in football and track. After high school he entered the Georgia National Guard proudly serving his country for six years. Gene had a longtime career with Georgia Power retiring in 2004 with over thirty-five years of service. He was a member of Grace Fellowship in Greensboro, GA. For many years Gene sang with the Four Gospels and continued to sing for different occasions. He enjoyed telling stories of things that happened years ago and enjoyed testing his friends memories.
Survivors include his daughter, Renee Bradley Thackston and her husband Matt of Greensboro, GA; his son, Edward Bradley and his wife Natalie of Oglethorpe, GA; two grandchildren, Brad Thackston and his wife Lauren and Reese Bradley; sister, Edna Muse of Winder, GA; brother, Dr. Harold Bradley of Kerrville, TX; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Roy Bradley, Melvin Bradley, Johnny Hawks and Jeanette Hawks Osborne.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Greensboro City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Wayne Usry and Rev. Dennis Garner officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at McCommons Funeral Home.
