Alpha Peppers Obituary

Alpha Brown Peppers, 90, of Greensboro, GA died Sunday, December 15, 2002. Born June 24, 1912 in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Hugh Greeson and Floy Roxanne Attaway Greeson. She attended Greshamville School and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Greshamville. During her working career, she was an assistant Postmistress at Greshamville, a nurses aid at Minnie G. Boswell Hospital in Greensboro and McGary Hospital in Madison, and a textile finisher for Lena Hy Garmet Company in Greensboro and Pellams in Lawrenceville.

She is survived by three sons, Clyde Brown & wife Jo of Siloam, Georgia, Ottie Brown & wife Sue of Tucker, Georgia and Joe Brown & wife Celia of Oxford, North Carolina; two sisters, Estelle Sellers and Geneva Sellers both of Greshamville, Georgia; 11 grandchildren, Tim Brown, Greg Brown, David Brown, Kim Alford, Kelly Brown, Jeremy Brown, Jason Brown, Darryl Henderson, Derek Brown, Damon Brown and Duane Brown; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband Chalmers Lee "Babe" Brown Sr., second husband John Autry Peppers, and a son Chalmers Lee Brown.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Greshamville with Rev. Mike Pritchett and Rev. Ken Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Tim Brown, Greg Brown, David Brown, Derek Brown, Duane Brown, Damon Brown, Rob Alford and Jeremy Brown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at the Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 311 E.
