Albert Kennedy “Kenn” Martin

Albert Kennedy “Kenn” Martin, age 67, of Greensboro, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Sparta Health & Rehabilitation in Sparta, GA.  Born in Albany, GA on May 7, 1949, he was the son of Albert Chapman Martin and Mary Bertha Kennedy Martin.  Kenn graduated from the University of Georgia with a BSED.  He earned his Masters from Georgia Southern University and continued his education earning an EDS from the University of Georgia.  In 1969 he married the former Donna Powell.  He retired from Oglethorpe County High School where he was a teacher and later the Vocational Administrator.  One of his greatest achievements was the mentoring of his students and his kindness to all.  Always an avid outdoorsman, Kenn enjoyed gardening and travelling.  However, being with and enjoying his family was most important.

Survivors include his wife Donna Martin of Greensboro, GA; two daughters, Magan Martin Byron and husband Chris of Athens, GA and Lea Martin Justice, husband Chris and  their daughter, Riley Kate Justice of Eatonton, GA.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Sparta Health & Rehabilitation for their wonderful care of Kenn.  The family request any memorials be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, P.
