William Robert “Robby” Jones
William Robert “Robby” Jones of Greensboro, GA, age 62, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. Robby was born in West Point, GA on March 9, 1957, the son of the late William Bobby Jones and Allean Cannon Jones. Robby graduated from Greene County High School where he excelled in football and baseball. Right after high school he started driving a truck for Mr. J. B. Dolvin and that has been his love ever since. He soon started his own company, Robby Jones Trucking. On November 6, 2015 he married his loving wife and best friend Alaine. He was of the Baptist Faith. His favorite hobby was coon hunting, but he also enjoyed fishing, football and baseball.
In addition to his wife, Alaine Jones of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by step-daughter, Tiffany Pulliam and her husband Bud and their children, Hadley Grace and Henry Luke whom he adored. He is also survived by his aunts, Geraldine Batchelor and Linda Ogle and her husband Donald; Uncle, Larry Cannon; half sister, Kathy Schroeder and her husband Tom; step-mother, Sondra Jones; step-sisters, Angie Gurley and her husband Roger and Kim Denton and her husband Dorsey; step-brother, Kirby Southerland and his wife Sherri, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Robert Jones and an aunt, Patricia Deason. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, 1400 Farmington Road, Madison, GA 30650 with Rev. Mike Pritchett and Rev. Farrett Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Russell Leach, Tim Askew, George “Corky” Cannon, Elbert “Rap” Goss, Stuart Thomas, Jay Cooper, Kenny Silvey and Pete Ogletree. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
