William Lee “Bill” Thornton
William Lee “Bill” Thornton, age 54, of Union Point, Georgia, died on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, GA. Born in Athol, Massachusetts on March 27, 1959, he was the son of Virginia May Farr Thornton of Union Point, GA and the late Henry Clay Thornton, Sr. He attended Seymour High School in Connecticut and served his country in the United States Army. Bill was a carpenter and the owner and operator of Thornton’s Construction. He moved to Union Point from Elkhart, Indiana seventeen years ago. He enjoyed going fishing.
In addition to his mother, Virginia May Farr Thornton, of Union Point, GA, he is survived by two daughters, Jamie Thornton of Waterbury, CT and Jennifer Thornton of Waterbury,CT; two brothers, Steve Thornton of Calhoun, GA and Clay Thornton of Cleveland, OH; good friend, Patricia Nation of Greensboro, GA; nieces and nephews, Holly Thornton Marbut, Seth Thornton, Jake Thornton and Thomas Thornton; and a number of friends.
