William Lewis ("Bucky") McCannon

William Lewis “Bucky” McCannon, age 57, of Union Point, GA died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at his residence. Born in Athens, GA on September 2, 1959, he was the son of the late Lewis Hershel McCannon and Lula Mae Ogle McCannon. He attended Greene County High School. He worked for Plains Logging as a truck driver. Bucky was a member of Mt. Stephens Baptist Church in White Plains, GA. His favorite pastime was fishing and hunting.

Bucky is survived by his wife, Laurie McCannon of Union Point, GA; a son, William Lewis “Bill” McCannon (Rebecca McWaters); a daughter, Callie McCannon (Cedrick Rhodes); brother, Talmadge McCannon (Deanne); sisters, Sheila McCannon and Patsy McCannon; grandson, Zane Carter McCannon; other relatives and many friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Leisa Mae McCannon.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Callaway Chapel, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time for the service at Callaway Funeral Home. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
