William “Bill” Doty Jr., age 48, of the Liberty Community died Saturday, July 31, 2004 at his residence. Born in St. Clair County, Illinois on April 29, 1956 he was the son of William James Doty of St. Louis Missouri and the late Hanna Greta Rantala Doty. In 1974 he graduated from Southwest High School in St. Louis Missouri and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was an interior designer for Serta Manufacturing in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to his father he is survived by a sister, Kathleen Doty Brogden of Greensboro, GA; two brothers, Brian Doty of the Liberty Community and Eric Doty and wife Gena of Paso-Robles, CA; two nieces, Mary Doty and Sara Brogden; three nephews, Joshua Curry, Mack Doty and Joe Doty and a number of other relatives and friends. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, August 6, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Kinser officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Kinser residence. The family requests that any memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
