William Jordan Obituary

William Doffice Jordan, age 69, of Greensboro, Georgia, died on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Born April 10, 1944 in Athens, GA he was the son of the late William Joseph Jordan and Ina Mae Smith Jordan. He attended Greensboro High School and on August 19, 1966, he married the former Gladys Beal. Doffice worked for the Local 72 in Atlanta, GA as a plumber and pipe fitter. He retired in 2000 after thirty-two years of service. In his pastime he enjoyed fishing.

Doffice is survived by his wife, Gladys Beal Jordan of Greensboro, GA; siblings, Gladys Frady and husband Bobby of Mount Airy, GA, Virginia Smith and husband Joe of Greensboro, GA and Rachel Glover of Greensboro, GA; fifteen nieces and twelve nephews. In addition to his parents, William Joseph and Ina Mae Smith Jordan, he was preceded in death by his son William Curtis Jordan; stepson Clifford Newsome; and siblings, Edna Mae Osley, Louise Michael, Gene Jordan, William "Dub" Jordan and Wayne Jordan.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 28, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Dennis Garner and Bobby Frady officiating. Interment will follow in Grenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Tracy Jordan, Jerry Hatton, Nick Jordan, Dennis Stephens, David Stephens and Joe Foster. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
