William Dianich Obituary

William Charles “Charlie” Dianich William Charles “Charlie” Dianich, age 81, of Woodville, GA died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at his residence. Born in Ramsay, MI on April 17, 1923 he was the son of the late Peter Dianich of Unger State Russia and Helen Dobos Dianich of Inberg State Russia. He graduated from Gogebic College and received his Masters Degree at Northern Michigan University. During World War II he served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Princeton. He was a Counselor for Michigan Rehabilitation Services of the Department of Education and retired on July 6, 1965 after twenty years. He was an active member of St. Sebastian Church of Bessemer, MI, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the past commander of the American Legion in Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Eudene Cook Hill Dianich of Woodville, GA; a daughter, Debra Helstowski and husband Dave of Brighton, MI; two step daughters, Paula H. Brock and husband Phil of Woodville, GA and Pam H. Smith and husband Bruce of Athens, GA; three sons, Paul Dianich of Ham Lake, MN, Mike Dianich and wife Ann of Marquette, MI and Steve Dianich of Coon Rapids, MN; three sisters, Julie Landers of Berwyn, IL, Mary Kazer of Edmonds WA and Anne Kentala of Escondido, CA; five grandchildren, Taylor Dianich, McKenzie Dianich, David Helstowski, Jeffrey Helstowski, Thomas Helstowski; three step grandchildren, Russell Brock, Rosilyn B. Hunt and husband James and Kevin Smith; three step great grandchildren, Ethan Hunt, Zoey Brock and Robert Hunt; two nieces, Jane Dianich and Dianne Cronin-Stubbs and a number of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 18, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church of Greensboro, GA with Father Fernando Molina-Restrepo officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Phil Brock, Bruce Smith, Russell Brock, Kevin Smith, Richard Cook and Julian Davison. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements.
