William Canup Obituary

William “Bill” Canup, age 88, of Union Point, GA, died on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Greene Point Health Care Center in Union Point. Son of the late William M. Canup and Lillie Wilson Canup, Bill was born on December 30, 1921 in Hall County. He attended Oglethorpe County Schools. During his working career, he was employed by Chipman Union in Union Point as a spinner and by Wellington Puritan Mill in Greensboro as a custodian. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point. Bill is survived by a nephew, Glen Canup, Sr. and wife Nonie of Greensboro, GA; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Coy Canup, Roy Canup, Robert Canup, Eugene Canup, Ona Lackey, Myrtle Durham, Maebell Johnson and Marie Lankford. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church with Bruce Lovin officiating. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
