Wendal Wallace Lamb, age 80, died Monday, November 10, 2003 at Willow Run Retirement Center. He was born January 28, 1923 in Akron, Ohio to the late Emory R. Lamb and Inez L. McIntyre Lamb.

Marjorie Eleanor Johnston Lamb, his loving wife of sixty years, preceded him in death in April. He will be missed by a daughter, Melissa L. Danko and husband Lawrence of Springfield, Massachusetts; a son, Roger A. Lamb and wife Patricia of Greensboro, Georgia; a sister, Evelyn Ressler of Sun City, Arizona; a brother, James Lloyd Lamb and wife Helen of Pittsburgh, PA; two grandsons, Todd Lamb and wife Sarah of Detroit, Michigan and Mark Danko of Springfield Massachusetts; a granddaughter, Virginia Danko of Springfield, Massachusetts; and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Lamb served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was employed as a Planning Engineer for Pennsylvania Bell Telephone Company until his retirement in 1984. A long time resident of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, he was a member of the Mount Lebanon Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Interests included oil painting, model airplanes, the outdoors and reading.

He recently moved to Willow Run Retirement Center in Greensboro, Georgia, where St. Mary''s Hospice comforted him.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Greensboro United Methodist Church with Rev. Ira McKeever officiating. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements.
