Arthur Wayne Taylor
Arthur Wayne Taylor , age 79, of Crawfordville, Georgia died Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his residence. Wayne was born on November 2, 1935 in Taliaferro County to the late Thomas Felton Taylor and Ruth Kelly Taylor. He attended Alexander Stephens Institute until 1947 when the family moved to DeKalb County. He attended South West DeKalb High School. In 1955 he married Carolyn Joyce Martin. Wayne was in the grading business in the surrounding Atlanta area for many years until he and Carolyn moved back to Crawfordville in 1985. He continued in the grading business for eleven more years until his retirement due to health problems. Wayne was a member of Margarets Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon since 1998.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his children, Pam Taylor Humphreys (Billy) of Eatonton, GA, Kenny Taylor (Kathy) of Washington, GA and Felton Taylor of Crawfordville, GA; grandchild, Abigail Taylor of Kerman, CA; brothers, Gene Taylor of Conyers, GA and Sidney Taylor of Social Circle, GA; sisters, Nina Gaddis of Jackson, GA, Zelma Turner of Stockbridge, GA; several nieces and nephews, and others relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Mr. Taylor is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Martin Taylor and sisters, Marie Dorsey and Darlene Taylor.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Callaway Funeral Home Chapel, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Albert Stroup officiating. Interment will follow at Crawfordville Baptist Church Cemetery, 142 Memorial Drive, Crawfordville, GA 30631. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday night at Callaway Funeral Home.
