Walter Leon “Wally” Rodgers
Walter Leon “Wally” Rodgers, of Greensboro, GA, died Friday, September 25, 2015 at the age of 76. Wally was born in Chattanooga, TN on September 17, 1939, to the late William Dan Rodgers, Sr. and Ollie Rebecca Buckner Rodgers. He attended Lane Tech High School in Chicago, IL. On December 9, 1967, he married the former Judith Kay Klinnert, his wife of 47 years. He enjoyed a long and successful career as owner and operator of Oxford Foods, Inc. Twenty-five years ago, he moved to Greensboro, GA from Stone Mountain, GA. Wally attended Grace Fellowship Church in Greensboro. Among his many interests, he enjoyed fishing and boating on Lake Oconee. He had a great personality and was dearly loved. He will be missed by so many.
In addition to his wife Judy Rodgers of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by his sons, Richard Rodgers, Brian Rodgers, Adam Rodgers, Walter Leon “Wally” Rodgers, Jr. and Danny Rodgers; daughters, Mary Mackowiak and Lisa Rodgers; brother, Clifford Wesley Rodgers, sisters, Evelyn Giblin and Frances Griffin; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Quillin; a sister, Catherine Allison; and a brother, William D. Rodgers, Jr.
