Walter Charles Nash, Jr. “Chuck” passed away at his home in Madison, GA on Thursday, August 18, 2016 after an extended illness.
He is survived by his fiance, Angie Riseden; mother and stepfather, Nina and Ken Harrison; father and stepmother, Walter Charles Nash, Sr. and Imgard Nash; daughter and son-in-law, Megan Nash Murdock and John Murdock; sons, Christopher and Henry Nash; grandmother, Marie Harrison; step children, Richard Lamar, Scott Brewer, Jessica Johnson and Thomas Morgan; brothers, Christopher Nash and Michael Nash; step brother, Herman Thomas; step sisters, Pearl Shelnutt and her son, Aaron Peters and Belinda Thomas and her daughter, Brandi Norris; step grandchildren, Micah Brewer, Elijah, Lillian and La Nyiah Johnson; and a niece; Gwen Spradlin.
Chuck was born in Madison, GA on August 2, 1964 and graduated from Greene County High School in Greensboro, GA. He was a butcher at Moon’s Grocery Store in Greensboro and at Golden Corral in Baldwin, GA. He was a cook and assistant manager for Waffle House in several cities. He owned and operated his own body and paint shop in Greshamville, GA. He was committed to helping others privately and in several emergency services areas for thirty years. As a charter member of the Apalachee Fire Department, he held the rank of Captain.
A celebration of his life will be held at Apalachee United Methodist Church on August 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Fellowship will follow after the service at the school house next door. In lieu of flowers Chuck requested donations be made to Apalachee United Methodist Church or the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
