Jewell Vivian Sherrer Swann, age 85, of Union Point, GA, died Friday, February 16, 2018 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, GA. Born November 28, 1932 Vivian was the daughter of the late Edith Mae Davis and Woody Hinton Sherrer. She graduated from Union Point High School. On January 6, 1952 Vivian married Thomas William Swann, Sr. and they made their home in Morrow, GA. While living in Morrow she worked as an inspector for J. C. Penney until she retired in 1989. In May of 1989 they moved back to Union Point, GA. As long as health permitted, she was an active member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point, GA. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed cooking traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Billy Swann of Union Point, GA, she is survived by a son, Tommy Swann (Marsha) of Union Point, GA; a daughter, Tammy Kirby (Scott) of Brooks, GA; brother, Neal Sherrer of Jonesboro, GA; grandchildren, Jennifer Harwell of Arnoldsville, GA, Holly Roland (Brent) of Hoschton, GA, Brittany Trejo (Roberto) of Brooks, GA and Brooke Kirby of Brooks, GA; great grandchildren, Will and Layla Roland and Landon Kirby; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church, 1560 Bethesda Church Road, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Lem Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Franklin Combs, Tony Fowler, Chris Lundy, Gene Lindsey, Albert Brown and Ronnie Yearwood. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at the church. The family requests that any memorials be made to Bethesda Baptist Church, P. O.
