Virginia “Jinks” Jones 

Virginia “Jinks” Jones, age 66, of Greensboro, GA died Saturday, June 1, 2019 at her residence.  A lifelong resident of Greene County she was born in Greensboro on June 10, 1952 and was the daughter of the late Jesse Delmar Higdon and Lucille Artie Kimbrel Higdon.  She attended school in Social Circle and Greene County.  Most of her life she was a homemaker raising her children.  After her husband’s death in 1989, she started her own cleaning business.  Jinks attended Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church in Greensboro.
 
Survivors include a daughter, Regina Nicole Godbee (Jason) of Madison, GA; son, Joey Phillip Jones of Greensboro, GA; granddaughter, Nicole Godbee; sister, Connie Poulnott Carr; brother, Leslie Higdon; and a number of other relatives.  In addition to her husband, Phillip Grady Jones and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Liz Odum and Faye Martin; and brothers, James Higdon and Robert Higdon.

Visitation will be held at McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019, followed by a funeral service at McCommons Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Long officiating.  Pallbearers will be Greg Higdon, Chad Odum, Daniel Higdon, Mitchell Kimbrough, Rob Kimbrough, and Michael Poulnott.  Honorary pallbearers will be Shorty Arthur,  Mike Black, Neal Higdon and Trenton Godbee.  Interment will be at Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
