Valerie Lagacy Moore

Valerie Lagacy Moore, age 83, of Dunwoody, Georgia, died Monday, June 1, 2015 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA.  Mrs. Moore was born in Teaneck, NJ on June 3, 1931 the daughter of the late Alpha O’Connor Lagacy and Ethel Roulette Lagacy.  She graduated from high school in New Jersey and attended business school.  In 1954 she married Walter Edson Moore who preceded her in death in 2005.  Before she married she worked a while as a secretary, and then became a homemaker raising her children.  She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody.  Mrs. Moore enjoyed caring for her family and spending time with them.  She was an excellent cook.
 
In addition to her husband, Walter Edson Moore, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Moore in 1999; and a sister, Mary Jane Wry in 2001.  She is survived by a son, Christopher Alpha Moore of Greensboro, GA; a daughter, Kerry Smith of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Anthony Schafer, Shelby Smith and Alex Smith; other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Father Roberto Herrera officiating.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
