Tyree Godbee Obituary

Tyree Lee Godbee, age 59, of Union Point, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003. He was born in South Boston, Virginia on January 26, 1944 to the late Wilbur Lee Godbee and Ann Sherrer Godbee. After attending Union Point High School, he entered the Army National Guard. He had worked as a technician for Empire Telephone Company which later became Alltel.

In addition to his companion and good friend, Glenda S. Madden, he is survived by a daughter, Tonia Godbee of Union Point, GA; two sons, Jason Godbee and wife Regina and Trenton Godbee and wife Karri both of Greensboro, GA; a sister, Joanne Martin and husband Buster of Woodville, GA; four brothers, Marion Godbee and wife Sybil of Covington, GA, Donald Godbee and wife Carolyn of Woodville, GA, Dennis Godbee and wife Julie of Buckhead, GA, and Eddie Godbee and wife Judy of Bogart, GA; two grandchildren, Zach Yearwood and Dustin Cummins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 14, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Merle Arnold and Rev. Larry Davison officiating. Interment will follow at Wisteria Cemetery in Union Point. Serving as pallbearers are Vernon Dean, Robert Boivin, Doug Huff, Lowell Harrison, Donald Silvey, Mark Higdon, Michael Wood, Dwight Mixon, Todd Godbee and Bob Watson. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Rutherford, Zachary Yearwood, Josh Martin, Keith Martin and Lee Hunt. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.
