Gertrud Johanna Zeder “Trudy” Lindsey
Gertrud Johanna Zeder “Trudy” Lindsey of Greensboro, GA passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Greene Point Health Care and Rehabilitation. She was 79. Born in Bamberg, Germany on June 19, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Hans Zeder and Anna Saob Zeder of Germany. She graduated from college in Bamberg with a degree in accounting. She came to the United States in 1958 and met her future husband, James Richard “Buddy” Lindsey. They married January 13, 1962. She was a bookkeeper for S. T. Webb Construction and also worked for Webb Brothers. She derived much pleasure in serving her community and for more than thirty years was a member of the Greene County Athletic Booster Club, helped with Little League and other sports involving her children. She was a sports fan fanatic enjoying sports of any kind. Cleaning, knitting, playing cards and traveling were other things she enjoyed. Family came first and she was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church and the Adult 1 Sunday School Class as long as her health permitted.
Trudy is survived by daughters, Sandra Wood (Daniel) of Greensboro, GA and Chee Brown (Michael) of the Veazey Community; sons, Tony Parker (Jenny) of Maxeys, GA and Ricky Lindsey of Union Point, GA grandchildren, Jamie Duvall (Ashley), Lindsey Duvall, Jennifer Parker Branyan (Pat), Brianna Parker, Craig Stewart and Angela Yearwood; great grandson, Parker Wayne Branyan; sister, Heidi Schuberth (Siegfried) and a number of other relatives in Germany, so so many friends, and extended family, Kathy Ivey (James) of Dublin, GA. In addition to her husband Buddy Lindsey, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Buddy Gravitt, a son, Andy Lindsey and a sister, Irma Stryzsch.
A Memorial Service will be held at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro, GA on Monday September 21, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Mike Pritchett officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 5:00 p. m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home.
