Thomas Franklin Stephens
Thomas Franklin “Dee” Stephens, age 74, of Greensboro, GA, died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his residence. Born in Monroe, GA on September 27, 1940, he was the son of the late James Roy Stephens and Hattie Mae Ingram Stephens. He attended school in Penfield, GA. He was the owner an operator of the Red Rooster better known as the Kickin Chicken Private Bar & Grill on Carey Station Road for many years. In the last part of his career he owned and operated a painting business called Home Town Painting and painted houses all over Lake Oconee. Dee was a true cowboy and really loved horses. He was also known by Papa Dee by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Dee is survived by his children, Dennis F. Stephens, David T. Stephens, Debra S. Copeland and Torie L. Coker; grandchildren, Amanda B. Price, Dennis F. Stephens, Jr. William Daniel Stephens, Amber N. Shellnut, Stephanie Stephens, Tera D. Stephens and Thomas Cole Stephens; great grandchildren, Rachel M. Phillips, William L. Callaway, Dakota James Stephens, Shane Stephens, and Shaley Stephens; brother, Johnny Wayne Stephens; a number of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gary Stephens, Bobby Stephens and Abigail Branyan.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, October 3, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Robert Robinson officiating. Serving as pallbearers are D. J. Stephens, Daniel Stephens, David Stephens, Tony Stephens, Dennis Stephens, and Cole Stephens. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
