Thomas C. Hall

Thomas C. “Tom” Hall of Greensboro, GA, died on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the age of 81. Born in Glassport, PA on January 12, 1933, he was one of nine children born to the late Orrin H. Hall and Iva Mayer Hall.  He graduated from Glassport Pennsylvania High School and worked there until he was in his twenties.  He served his country honorably for three years in the United States Army.  On January 27, 1967 he married Viola Riley and they had been married for forty-five years at the time of her death in 2012.  Along with his wife he was the owner and operator of Dunes Laundry and Cleaners that they ran for thirty-five years and retired in 1995.  He also worked for Bethlehem Steel for thirty years.  In 2007 they sold the laundry business and moved to Osteen, Florida.  From Osteen they moved to Del Webb in Greensboro in November of 2009.  He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Moose Club in Chesterton, IN.  Tom enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, especially Pinochle and Euchre.  He also enjoyed Wii bowling, putting together jigsaw puzzles and listening to country music.  

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by seven of his siblings.  He is survived by a daughter, Deanna Meese “Dee” Bingham and husband William “Bill” of Greensboro, GA; two grandsons, Edward Bingham and Rodney Bingham and wife Maritza; two great granddaughters, Ashlee Bingham and Lela Bingham; brother, Glenn “Herkie” Hall of Glassport, PA; good friend, Jean Steinberg of Greensboro, GA; and a number of other relatives and friends.  

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Minister Merry Grayson officiating.  The family will receive friends at a reception after the service at the First United Methodist Church North Campus Family Life Center.  The family requests that any memorials be made in memory of Thomas C.
