Thomas Wehmeyer Gordon, 54, of Greensboro, GA passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at his residence. He was born in East Lansing, Michigan on June 10, 1947 to the late Marshal O. Gordon and Helen Wehmeyer Gordon. He graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and retired in 2000 as the Executive Vice President of Leggett and Platt Furniture Manufacturing. He lived in Greensboro for the past 10 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro.
He is survived by his wife Tonya Layton Gordon of Greensboro, GA; two daughters, Pam Longino and husband Mitch of Milledgeville, GA and Jennifer Dickinson and husband Andy of Decatur, GA; two sons, T.K. Gordon and future daughter-in-law Kelly Davis of Atlanta, GA and Jack Smith of Eatonton, GA; one brother John Marshel Gordon and wife Sandra of Columbia, MO; one grandson, Miles Longino; a niece and a nephew.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, March 22, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro with Rev. Richard Chewning officiating. The family requests that memorials be made in memory of Thomas W. Gordon to the following organizations: First United Methodist Church, 202 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, G A 30642; St. Mary''s Hospice, P.O. Box 6588, Athens, GA 30604; or Winship Cancer Institute (at Emory University), 365 Clifton Road, NE, Suite B 4100, Atlanta, GA 30322 (Please note that it is for Brain and/or Breast Cancer Research).
