Thelma Marr Eubanks

Thelma Marr Eubanks, age 96, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at her residence. Born August 28, 1909 in Floyd County, Georgia she was the daughter of the late Thomas Marr and Minnie Milton Marr. She attended Gilmer County High School in Ellijay. She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church where she attended Trailblazers Sunday School Class. She was a former member of Mountaintown Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA and New Armuchee Baptist Church in Armuchee, GA.

She is survived by four daughters, Julia Katherine Evatt of Ellijay, GA, Carolyn Holmes and husband Pendley of Calhoun, GA, Donna Hurst and husband Wayne of Greensboro, GA and Monna Lumsden and husband Charles of Greensboro, GA; three sons, William D. Eubanks of Albany, GA, Douglas M. Eubanks and wife Nancy of Armuchee, GA, and Milton R. Eubanks and wife Bonnie of Sault Sainte Marie, MI; a sister Minnie Belle Allen of Peachtree City, GA; a brother, William T. Marr and wife Mildred of Edmond, OK; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-six great grand children; two great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jefferson Eubanks; a daughter, Irene Eubanks; two sons, Thomas Marr Eubanks and Robert Andrew Eubanks; a sister Nettie Hill; and three brothers, Lionel Marr, Earnest Marr and Raymond Marr.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church in Greensboro with Rev. Lee Ross and Rev. Ken Keeley officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Hugh Kemp, Joe Marshall, Larry Jones, Fritz Boothe, Jack Minchey and Bob Phillips. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Mountaintown Baptist Church in Ellijay with Rev. Edmund Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Charles Lumsden, Wayne Hurst, Darrin Stafford, Ken Finley, Doug Beck, Warren Owen, Lynn Hall, Tommy Ball, Tim Young, Pendley Holmes and Clint Hudson.
