Terry Eugene Wray

Terry Eugene Wray, age 63, of Bairdstown, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.  Born in Greene County on April 14, 1953,  he was the son of Mary Ruth Williams Wray of Bairdstown and the late Eugene Talmadge Wray.  Terry attended Oglethorpe County High School.  On December 3, 1976, he married the former Carol Diane Underwood and most recently they celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary.  Before they closed, he worked for Wellington Puritan Mills in Greensboro, GA.  After thirty-eight years of service, due to health, Terry retired from Berry Plastics in Washington, GA as a forklift operator.  He attended Bairds Baptist Church.  Throughout his life, he enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting, riding horses and gardening.  Terry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend and everyone will miss him dearly.

Terry is survived by his wife, Carol Wray of Bairdstown, mother, Mary Ruth Williams Wray of Bairdstown; a son Tracy Wray of Bairdstown; a daughter, Melissa Wray of Lexington, GA; granddaughter, Hailey McCook; and siblings, Debra Ann Aaron (Keith) of Lexington, GA, Tammy Michelle Williams of Union Point, GA and Rodney Wray (Michelle) of Crawford, GA along with many extended relatives and many friends.
 
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 2, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Bairds Baptist Church,  42 Bairdstown Loop, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Danny Holdredge officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers are Gill Wray, Tim Wray, T. J. Wray, Shawn Wiggins, Brad Williams and Cody Williams.  Honorary pallbearers are Mike Brooks, Jesse Aaron and Zach Wray.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time for the service at Bairds Baptist Church.  The family requests that any memorials be made to TJ & Friends Foundation, PO Box 6161, Elberton, GA 30635, St. Jude Children Research Hospital, P.
