Terry Lee Lindsey, Sr., 65, of Greensboro, Georgia died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at his home surrounded by family and loved ones. A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born March 1, 1942 to the late Herman Lindsey and Francis Sorrow Lindsey. As a child he was born and raised in Union Point and attended school in Union Point. After he married Hazel McElhannon they lived in Union Point for awhile and later moved to Greensboro to work for Wellington Puritan Mills where he was a mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel McElhannon Lindsey in May of 2003. He is survived by six sons, Casey Lindsey, Ernie Lindsey, Terry Lindsey Jr, Jonathan Lindsey, Stanley Lindsey and Jacob Lindsey all of Greensboro, GA; two sisters, Carolyn Darr of Missouri and Jean Shipley of Maryland; a brother, David Morgan of Salisbury, Maryland; a grandson, Charles Stanley "C. J." Lindsey Jr.; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Dennis Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Hall, Keith Hagwood, Allen Channell, John Herrington, Dan Noggles and Al Seymour. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at the Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements.
