Ted Evans

Ted Evans, age 66, of Buckhead, GA died Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at Athens Regional Medical Center. He was born in Brooks County on August 2, 1937 to the late Anderson Evans and Ruby Kate Hardigree Evans. He attended Union Point School and was an Order Puller at Wellington Puritan Mills in Madison and Greensboro.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lila Jo Patrick Evans of Buckhead, GA; a daughter, Cindy Evans of Athens, GA; a son, Ted "Butch" Evans, Jr. and wife Donna of Talking Rock, GA; three grandchildren, Bethany Evans of Conyers, GA, Ashlie Evans of Talking Rock, GA and Jessica Evans of Athens, GA. He was preceded in death by brothers, W. O. Evans, Marvin Evans, Frank Evans and Leroy Evans.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Steve Wallace and Rev. Wayne Powers officiating. Burial will follow at Buckhead City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Jimmy Ferrell, James Roy Goss, Al Hunnicutt, Thomas "Junior" Goss, Travis Goss, Paul Goss and Doug Goss. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Swords Methodist Church, c/o Josh Wheat, 1351 Morgan Drive, Buckhead, GA 30625.
