Sylva Easley Obituary

Sylva Broaddrick Easley, affectionately known as "Mama Chic", age 79, of Greensboro, GA died Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at Minnie G. Boswell Memorial Hospital. A native of Dalton, GA, she was born on January 31, 1924 to the late George Lombard Broaddrick and Maude Hayes Broaddrick. She graduated from Dalton High School and was a homemaker. She resided in Greensboro for the last 54 years where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro. She loved to play bridge and was an avid golfer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles Eldridge "Chic" Easley Sr., in July of 2002. She is survived by four sons, Charles Eldridge Easley Jr. of Greensboro, GA, Frank Broaddrick Easley and wife Judy of Greensboro, GA, Richard Conrad Easley and wife Marian of Greensboro, GA and Samuel Manson Easley and wife Laura of Augusta, GA; a sister, Thelma MacNaughten of Adrian, Michigan; a brother, Tom Broaddrick and wife Sally of Tiger, GA; six grandchildren, Jason Easley and wife Beth, Kelley E. Martin and husband Dean, Conrad Easley, Jimmy Easley, Charles Easley and Alex Brousse; four great-grandchildren, Natalie Martin, Nicholas Martin, Kaitlyn Easley and Ellen Easley; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Greensboro City Cemetery with Rev. Scott Parrish and Rev. Ed Nelson officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Jamie Reynolds, Jim Temple, Ben Hood, Bruce Broadrick, Frank Broadrick and Mike Broadrick. The family requests that any memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church Youth Group, 202 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday night at their residence, 306 S. Walnut Street. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
