Steven Douglas Hill, 61, of White Plains, Georgia died Thursday, July 14, 2011. Born in Battlecreek, MI on April 24, 1950 he was the son of Irene Eugene Delphanio Hill of Bellevue, MI and the late Kenneth Lee Hill. He attended High School in Michigan and joined the Marine Corp at the age of 17 serving three tours in Vietnam. He later earned a degree in civil engineering from Georgia Tech and spent his working career as a Civil Engineer. His hobbies were writing, cooking, grilling and woodworking and he was a true outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Living in White Plains, he moved to Greene County from Sylvester, GA four years ago. He was a member of the VFW in Albany, Georgia. Steven was a generous person who believed in helping others. He was a good Christian man who read his bible daily and will truly be missed by his loved ones and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kay Hill of White Plains, GA; four daughters, Karen M. Hill of Tifton, GA, Jessica N. Carona and husband Tom of Washington, DC, Cynthia C. Hill of Poulan, GA and Nora F. Campbell and husband Adam of Valdosta, GA; three sons, Michael H. Hill and wife Jeanne of Princeton, NC, Ben Hill and wife April of Eatonton, GA and Cyrus F. Hill of Columbus, MS; a sister, Linda Scroggy of San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Amber K. Hill, Zack D. Hill, Trinity C. Hill, Nora G. R. Hill, Skilynn C. Hill, Mason A. Hill, Nicole Corona, Shay Corona, Bre''yana Hill and Guy P. Campbell; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Sue Hill.
