Steve Bedsole Obituary

Steve Lee Bedsole, age 54, of Greensboro, GA passed away at his home on Thursday, September 29, 2011. A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born in Greensboro on December 2, 1956, the son of Nina Stanley Bedsole of Greensboro and the late Holland Goodwin "Holly" Bedsole. He graduated from Greene County High School and married the former Gail Whitehead of Penfield on November 16, 1985. He worked for Hometown Manufacturing, Stewart Apparel and Moon''s Super Market all in Greensboro and Bedsole Store in Sparta. He loved NASCAR racing, going to the beach with his family, putting together puzzles, playing cards with his family and friends and especially loved his grandchildren. In his later years he spent lots of time enjoying his front porch watching birds, as well as giving his beloved pets, Hayley and Boo Boo lots of attention and treats.

In addition to his mother, Nina Stanley Bedsole of Greensboro, he is survived by his wife, Gail Whitehead Bedsole of Greensboro, GA; daughter, Chris Garcia and husband David of Athens, GA; son Alan Bedsole of Greensboro, GA; sister, June Bedsole of Greensboro, GA; mother-in-law, Minnie Whitehead; sister-in-law, Carol Harris; aunt, Barbara Overton; grandchildren, Corey Alan Bedsole and Daniel Garcia; seven nieces and nephews, and a number of great nieces and great nephews; three "grand-dogs" as well as many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church, 2830 Highway 15 South, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Wayne Usry, Rev. Tim Tabler and Freddie Walker officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Penfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until time for the service at Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church.
