Shirley Bishop Rinard

Shirley Bishop Rinard of Greensboro, GA passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, GA.  Born in Albright, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Emory Bishop and late Clarice Elizabeth Harned.  She graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics with a minor in English.  As a youth she was a cheerleader, high school Drum Majorette and was May Queen in college.  She also judged beauty pageants in Atlantic City and even had a radio show.  In 1959 she married James Franklin Rinard.  They settled in Keyser, WV and had two daughters.  After 5 years in Keyser, they moved to Newark, DE where they raised their girls over the next 12 years.  They then moved to Conyers, GA where they lived for 30 years before retiring and building Shirley's dream home at Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Ga 7 years ago.

She was involved in so many groups over the years:  various Charity groups, Golf, Bridge, Bunko, and "Sole" Searchers which she helped form...  Shirley was a member of First United Methodist Church in Greensboro, GA and was active in Sunday school.  She spent many happy years arranging fund raisers, social events and she loved to entertain.  She just loved all of her family and all of her friends.  Shirley brightened and energized every room and never met a stranger.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Jim Rinard of Greensboro, GA; two daughters, Jennifer Rinard and husband Steven Davis of Eatonton, GA and Krista R. Elliott and husband Todd of Sugar Hill, GA; three grandchildren, Jessica Elliott, Kasey Petrea and Shelby Davis; her siblings, Viola "Toot's" Groves, Paul Bishop, Ronnie Bishop, Sue Eavenson and Marshall Bishop; and a number of other relatives and so so many friends.
