Shirley Teasley Moore
Shirley Teasley Moore passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospice House in Watkinsville, GA. A native of Elbert County, she was born on December 10, 1944, the daughter of the late Clyde Brown Teasley, Sr. and Laura Elizabeth Brown Teasley. She grew up in Elberton and graduated from Elberton High School. Shirley married James Russell “Jimmy” Moore on January 1, 1972. She retired from the Georgia Department of Family & Children Services where she served Greene County for many years. Shirley thoroughly enjoyed her family and helping others. She loved reading, canning, and was an excellent cook. As long as health permitted, she was a faithful member of Siloam United Methodist Church.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Jimmy Moore of Greensboro, GA; her son, Zack Moore of Greensboro, GA; brother, Clyde Brown “Brownie” Teasley, Jr. and his wife Marinelle of Bogart, GA; sister, Bertha Ann Cail of Middleton, MA; sister-in-law, Vivian Teasley; her mother-in-law and close companion, Elizabeth Moore whom she lovingly called “Mama Moore”; a number of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, R. J. Teasley, Sr. and a sister, Grace Dudley.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. at Siloam Cemetery, Church Street, Siloam, GA 30665 with Rev. Farrett Boswell officiating.
