Shirley Haynie Dingler
Shirley Haynie Dingler of Union Point, GA, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at Boswell Parker Health & Rehabilitation. She was 83. Born in Amarillo, Texas, on December 12, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Ira Spencer Haynie and Myrtle Moore Haynie. She graduated from Amarillo High School. Shirley moved from Texas in 1958 and married Seth Davis Dingler on November 24, 1958. Shirley was a homemaker who enjoyed crossword puzzles and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She was a huge fan of sports, especially watching Braves baseball and also enjoyed football. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union Point, GA.
Survivors include a sister, Nina Dingler of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Neil Vanderbush and Holly Vanderbush; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Seth Davis Dingler and a son, Gregory Vanderbush.
Graveside Services will be held, Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Marc Lhowe officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Peyton Lanier, Austin Lanier, Christopher Dingler, Ricky Dingler and Steve Lanier. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at Callaway Funeral Home. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
