Sheridan Rose McLain Hess

Sheridan Rose McLain “Sheri” of Eatonton, GA passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, GA at the age of 71. Born September 5, 1946 in Bremerton, Washington, she was the daughter of the late Roger Sherman and Rosemary Knight McLain. She graduated from Miami Central High School in the class of 1964 and Miami Dade Junior College in Miami, FL. Later in life she received two Master’s Degrees, one in Social Work and one in Non Profit Management from the University of Georgia.  On February 22, 1975 she married Robert Zimmerman Hess. She worked her way up at Bellsouth from telephone operator to engineer retiring in 2000 after thirty-seven years.  She was a member of Lake Oconee Community Church.  Sheri was a wonderful mother and wife who was talented in caning, art and writing. She also enjoyed working out and traveling with her family. Sheri was a member of the Georgia Writer’s Museum and the Artist Guild in Eatonton, GA.  She was community minded and enjoyed giving to the Cancer club.

In addition to her husband, Bob Hess of Eatonton, GA, she is survived by a son, McLain “Mac” Hess of Eatonton, GA; and many friends.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Lake Oconee Community Church, 1001 Village Park Drive, #107, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev.
