Sara Jewell Beal Harper

Sara Jewell Beal Harper, age 80, of Covington, GA passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Savannah Court of Lake Oconee.  Born in Greene County, Jewell was the daughter of the late Epp Beal and Annie Ophelia Johnson Beal.  She was born September 28, 1936 and graduated from Union Point High School.  Baby as she was lovingly known by family and friends married W. Garland Harper on December 23, 1955.  For many years she was the secretary and receptionist for Life of Georgia Insurance Company.  She was a member of Siloam Methodist Church.  Shopping and watching game shows on t.v. were her favorite pastimes.

Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, W. Garland Harper in 1998; and her siblings, Doris Ogletree, Bernice Clear, Henry Beal, Elma Beal and Nina Mae Stewart.  Survivors include a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
 
Graveside Services will be held Monday, January 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Ross Johns officiating.  Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
