Sandra Gale Sherrer Brown

Sandra Gale Sherrer Brown, age 70, of Union Point, Georgia, died on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Gentiva Hospice IPU in Athens, GA.  Born in Union Point, GA on July 2, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Marion Sherrer and Josie Norene Finch Sherrer.  She graduated from Union Point High School where she was an honor student.  On September 3, 1982, she married Albert Clifton Brown. She worked as a cashier at Lord’s Galaxy Foods in Union Point.  Sandra was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking cakes. She also enjoyed working with flowers inside and working in the flower garden.  At an early age she joined the First Baptist Church of Union Point.
 
In addition to her husband, Albert C. Brown of Union Point, GA, she is survived by three sisters, Judy Mize and husband Millard of Royston, GA, Jane Bowen of Athens, GA, and Chris Bridges and husband Ronnie of Madison, GA; daughters, Kim Kendrick and husband John of Rome, GA and Jenny Lott and husband Stephen of Baton Rouge, LA and their children, Ella Grace Lott and Will Lott;  a number of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  

Graveside Services will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. David Bryan officiating.  Serving as pallbearers are Skip Mize, Cliff Mize, Michael Brown, Greg Brown, Terry O’Neal and Michael Lord.   The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 p.m. until time for the service at Callaway Funeral Home.  The family would like to give a special thanks to those at Greene Point Nursing Home for their love and care for Sandra: nurses, Louella and Laura; the CNAs, Sandy and Fanny; roommate, Jo and her caretaker Tammy; and Room 107, Barbara, Nettie and Elaine. We would also like to thank our neighbors, Fred and Leigh; those who cared for her at Piedmont Athens Regional along with Gentiva Hospice, her sister Judy and husband Millard and our daughter, Kim for all the time she spent with Sandra at the hospital.  We also appreciate all the calls and prayers from family and friends.  Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
