Ruth Virginia Tolbert Moody

Ruth Virginia Tolbert Moody of Greensboro, GA passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Boswell Parker Health and Rehabilitation in Greensboro, GA at the age of 89. A lifelong resident of Greene County, she was born October 26, 1924 to the late Obie Columbus Tolbert and Nancy Ada Bryan Tolbert. She graduated from Greensboro High School in the class of 1942. On August 9, 1944 she married Robert Davidson Moody of Taliaferro County. During her working career she was a clerk at Interstate 5 & 10 and also worked for Discount Fabrics.  She was a member of Walker United Methodist Church of Greensboro.  Ruth was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was talented at sewing, gardening, crocheting and cooking. She also enjoyed taking trips to the mountains with her family.

Ruth is survived by three daughters, Virginia Moody of Greensboro, GA, Bonnie Dooley and husband Billy of Winder, GA and Nancy Adams and husband Paul of Augusta, GA; seven grandchildren, Christina Jones, Jo Nell Goss, Brian Dale Hulsey, Doug Conley, Travis Conley, Stuart Conley and Joan K. Caruso; nine great-grandchildren, Gregory Jones, Katie Conley, Taylor Conley, Ally Conley, Harrison Conley, Mason Conley, Jacob Hammock, Rowan Caruso and Olivia Caruso; sisters, Abbie Lee Scoggins of Greensboro, GA and Helen Wright of Blairsville, GA; brother, Comer Tolbert and wife Nona of Greensboro, GA; and a number of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Moody on November 5, 2006; a brother, Harold Tolbert; and two infant sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. John Pike, Danny Jones and Comer Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow at Walker United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Doug Conley, Travis Conley, Stuart Conley, Brian Dale Hulsey, Danny Jones and Gregory Jones. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014 and from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service, Friday at the funeral home.
