Ruth Frances Brown Bonner, age 87, of Buckhead, Georgia, died on Friday, March 16, 2012 at St. Mary''s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. Mrs. Bonner was born in Holly Springs, GA in Jackson County on May 12, 1924 the daughter of the late James Rufus Brown and Alma Carrie Hensley Brown. She attended Pennington School and helped to raise all of her younger siblings while her parents worked. She worked at the Madison Sewing Plant and later in the tea kettle line at the Enterprise Aluminum Plant in Eatonton where she retired in 1988. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and enjoyed gardening, canning, growing flowers and loved being with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Edward Bonner in November of 1998; a granddaughter, Janie Ruth Burgess; and siblings, Georgia Ervin and Winford Brown. She is survived by three daughters, Vicki Huff of Buckhead, GA, Lynn Stephens of Buckhead, GA and Gerald Warren and husband Daryl of Pelham, GA; a son, Edward Bonner and wife Molly of Buckhead, GA; four sisters, Hattie Bonner of Buckhead, GA, Faye Mitchem of Madison, GA, Phoebe Slocum of Covington, GA and Hazel Hardy of Eatonton, GA; three brothers, Bobby Brown of Madison, GA, Ezra Brown of Moultrie, GA and David Brown and wife Bonnie of Madison, GA; eight grandchildren, Wally Smith and wife Angela, Tonya Lambert and husband Derrick, Riley Huff and wife Annie, Mandy Cronic, Joe Huff, Ches Stephens, Leigh Ann Stephens and Chase Bonner, nine great grandchildren, Anna and Ray Smith, Daryn and Alec Lambert, Addison and Hollis Huff, Coleman and Aaron Mitchem, Randy Stephens; two great, great grandchildren, Bella Turpin and Zane Highnote; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Buckhead City Cemetery, Buckhead Road, Buckhead, GA 30625 with Rev. Gary Pritchett officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Shannon Brown, Mark Hardy, Jack Brown, Jimmy Brown, Steve Brown, Rodney Wilson, Bill Bonner and Dave Strange.
