Russell E. Lovell, 63, of Greensboro, GA, formerly of Springfield, IL passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at St. Mary''s Hospice in Bogart, GA. Born in Springfield, IL on April 19, 1949, he was the son of Vernon and Mary Watts Lovell. He attended Lanphier High School and graduated from Athens High School in Athens, IL and for two years attended Southern Illinois University. While in Springfield, he was a carpet layer for his Uncle Don Douglas. He moved to Greensboro, GA in 2010 from Florida, where he was in construction.
In addition to his parents, Vernon and Mary Lovell of Greensboro, he is survived by two sisters, Kathy and her husband Richard Matthews of Greensboro, GA and Rita and her husband Jim Kelley of Florence, TX; aunts, Ruby Coady, Alma Lafauce, Donna Douglas, and Sandy Skrele; uncle, Ron Lovell; and several cousins all from Springfield, IL; nieces, Traci Penrod and her husband, Jack and two sons, Jordy and Rian of Dacula, GA and Kimberly Stevens and her husband, Rick and two daughters, Taylor and Hannah of Coral Springs, FL.
A Memorial Service will be held, Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Pastor Ron Schornhorst officiating.
