Rosa Veazey Obituary

Rosa Nell Wheeler Veazey, age 96, of Crawfordville, GA, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Greene Point Health Care Center in Union Point. She was born on October 10, 1913 in Taliaferro County, Georgia to the late Macon Wheeler and Blanche Rhodes Wheeler. She grew up in and attended school at Margaret''s Grove. Later she graduated from Alexander Stephens Institute in Crawfordville. In 1930 she married Andrew Pryor Veazey and they lived in Crawfordville. For a while she worked for Royal Manufacturing in Crawfordville, but left to help her husband on the farm. She was a member of Powelton Baptist Church in Hancock County and a member of the Taliaferro County Farm Bureau.

She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Pryor Veazey in 1966; a baby boy that died at birth; and brothers, Buddy Wheeler, Harold Wheeler and Alton Wheeler. She is survived by a daughter, Margaret V. Agee of Milledgeville, GA; a son, Larry Veazey and wife Ruth of Crawfordville, GA; a sister, Sybil Wheeler Veazey of Crawfordville, GA; five grandchildren, Leslie Agee, Tony Agee, Freddy Agee, Terri Agee Wommack and Andy Veazey; nine great grandchildren, Jodi Kent, Wesley Wommack, Jessica Bampton, Kevin Agee, Michael Agee, Jason Agee, Lanie Grimes, Lindi Huff and Adam Agee; eleven great great grandchildren, Savannah Kent, Sydney Kent, Sienna Kent, Natalie Wommack, Camryn Wommack, Jordan Grimes, Josey Grimes, Jake Grimes, Garrett Huff, Gavin Huff and Ginger Huff; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Powelton Baptist Church, 5 Jones Bridge Road, Sparta (Powelton), GA 31087 with Rev. Jeff Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in the Powelton Cemetery, 25065 GA Hwy 22, Sparta (Powelton), GA 31087 . Serving as pallbearers are Leslie Agee, Willard Cooper, Wesley Wommack, Mike Butts, Tony Agee, Freddy Agee, Milton Lyle and Lewis Brown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday night at Callaway Funeral Home. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
