Rollin Arthur Mize, age 67, of Greensboro, GA died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Athens Regional Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Greene County he was born September 2, 1939 the son of Odelle Marlowe Mize of Greensboro, GA and the late Rollin Goodman Mize. In 1958 he graduated from Greensboro High School. After high school he served in the United States Army for two years. Then he worked for Valiant Steel as a supervisor and later Georgia Pacific as a machine operator retiring in 2005. He enjoyed hunting but his favorite activity was fishing with his grandsons.
In addition to his mother, Odelle Marlowe Mize of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Smith Mize of Greensboro, GA; two daughters, Stacey Strickland and husband Kevin of the Liberty Community and Tracey Brown of Greensboro, GA; two sisters, Lois Merritt and husband Bobby of Greensboro, GA and Joann Vandiver and husband Louie of Greensboro, GA; a brother, Euel Mize of Greensboro, GA; four grandchildren, Jackson Strickland, Collin Strickland, Austin Brown and Lane Brown; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church with Rev. Kerwin Kilgore and Rev. Jeff Daws officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Keith Kilgore, Thomas Hattaway, Richard Boivin, Shane Higdon, Neal Higdon, Travis Kilgore and Dennis Mize.
